Should a individual become a felon after their third DUI in 20 yrs. with no accidents...And do you think MADD is trying to fight a deeper personal battle in a pitty for sorrow for someones loss? I feel the anger, but innocent people are paying a costly price for someones negligence and they want to stop drinking and driving to stop accidents, BUT....

The people in MADD are crazy.

Sorry but I do agree. In fact, the BAC should be lowered to 0.02 and law enforcement should be able to legally stop anyone at any time, give them a breathalyzer test, and either arrest them or let them go on their way.

Believe me, drunk driving and driving while under the influence would stop - overnight.

Why do people who have been drinking think they have the right to drive that way on any road that is funded by all taxpayers? Or anywhere public for that matter?

45,000 people a year who lose their lives due to alcohol on the road or anything else shared by the public that includes a motorized vehicle, are 45,000 people too many.

I think the current laws are far too lenient. A first offense should get one six months and a second should be a felony.

I think the current laws are way too lenient for multiple offenders. I do think the penalty for first time offenders are fine (assuming no accidents are involved), with the understanding that they get no more leniency for any further offenses.

Most people do learn from their first offense and never repeat. This proves the current penalty for first time offenders are adequate. But, the ones that re-offend a second time obviously did not learn from the first, and are likely to do it again a third, forth, fifth, time, and more. This are the ones that need to be dealt with harshly, from the second offense on. In fact, after the third, they should not even be allowed out of prison to get a forth offense.

What do you think? Answer below!
