I was walking the 6 month old (56 lb) puppy and its incision came open 4 days after the surgery. Its abdomen got covered in dirt and on the way back to try to get it medical treatment its intestines came out. It started to vomit and went into shock. I then had to put it out of its misery and shoot my 6 month old puppy. I went to court to sue for 8k for the vets negligence. I have had 7 other surgeries for my other two dogs in which both outer stitches or outer staples,or both, were used. Of course his insurances lawyer pulled some garbage from the supreme court which stated expert testimony was necessary for malpractice case . Therefore being as the judge couldnt use his own judgement from the pictures I presented of my dogs guts hanging out, the case was dismissed. I have 30 days to appeal but I need an experts testimony. I spoke with an attorney and he said it would cost nearly 1500.00 to appeal it. He said I may only get the 900.00 in cost for the dog back. What would you do? And why did a Judge let this vetrinarian get away with this. Would you appeal it. Or would you pay an attorney 1500.00 plus money to get an experts opinion. Isnt that insurance fraud on the vets part? Not paying out a claim that is clearly owed? The worthless vet didnt even testify,because he is a coward. What would you do if this happened to you?
THE WORTHLESS JUDGE DIDNT GIVE ME A PENNY AND DISMISSED THE CASE BECAUSE OF A SUPREME COURT RULING FROM 1979. YOU PROBABLY LIVE IN A LARGER HOUSE THEREFORE PROBABLY WOULDNT HAVE TO TAKE IT FOR A WALK. YOU SAY YOU WOULD KEEP IT IN A KENNEL AND KEEP IT CALM WITH ITS COLLAR ON, WHICH IS WHAT I DID 98 PERCENT OF THE TIME. AND ITS ECOLLAR WAS ON EVEN WHEN IT WENT FOR WALKS. THIS HAPPENED ON THE 4TH DAY AFTER SURGERY, NOT THE FIRST DAY. MY OPINION IS THAT THE VET SHOULD BE GUTTED AND LEFT TO DIE. JUST LIKE THEM USING GLUE ON A 56LB DOG DID TO MY DOG. I SHOULDNT HAVE EVEN TOOK IT TO COURT. I SHOULD HAVE DONE WHAT ANY NORMAL PERSON WOULD HAVE DONE AND WENT DOWN TO THE VET WITH AN AXE. I BET IF HE GOT GUTTED, THEY WOULD USE STAPLES AND STITCHES TO CLOSE THE WOUND. WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR WOULD USE GLUE TO CLOSE A WOUND ON A 56 LB DOG? I GUESS ONE THAT DESERVES TO SPEND ETERNITY IN HELL.

Dogs are property, thus they are only worth what you have put into them (price of the dog, vaccinations and medical care) unless they were meant to be bred and you can prove greater value (you can't as she was spayed).
The judge can ONLY do what is legal. Which is to give you what the dog is worth.
Frankly, I'm shocked the dog's intestines came out. I've seen spay surgeries (both human and canine!) Anatomically, it would take quite a bit for the intestines to just come out.
This wouldn't happen to me, since my dog would be being kept calm and in a crate with an elizabethan collar on or with me actually watching her, so I cannot say what I would do.
