John Edwards made millions as a trial attorney in malpractice cases. Now while no one should blame attorneys soley for the incredible increase in the cost of healthcare, physicians nevertheless order a significant number of tests as the practice "defensive" medicine. We should first look at the record breaking profits and CEO bonuses from companies like United Healthcare when he discuss the rising cost of healthcare. However, John Edwards needs to comeforth and explain how someone who was prostituting the system can is now qualified to fix the system. That doesn't mean patients who have been wrongfully harmed shouldn't have legal rights it just means attorneys shouldnt get 1/3 to 1/2 the judgment. Trial attorneys just have to be accountable for a small portion of the healthcare crisis.

Ambulance chasers like Edwards and the rest of the class action types are a huge problem and cost the health care industry billions in unnecessary waste in order to fuel their personal greed. We need to have tort reform now.

This foolish man really believes he can convince people that his was an honorable profession. Ambulance chasers don't care who get's hurt financially. They are in it for the money and the power, and to hell with the moral aspect of their campaign !

It is the Judges and Juries that decide if Moneys are paid out and how much if any. The Attorneys just represent each party in the suit.

Exactly. Does he honestly think for one minute people are going to buy that he can fix a system he and his kind has such success in? He knows that socialized medicine will never make it past congress. He is trying to dupe the people like he duped jurors.

Tell me, how do you come up with ONLY John Edwards being the only person person who caused problems to the system. I believe there were other Attorneys doing this, and a lot of them are Republicans. Both caused this problem, not John Edwards.
By the way, the bush administration is causing problems with gas going to $ 3.00/gallon, why didn't you mention this?
