I fell on ice in the winter and my head was cut open. I got medical bills and I don't think I should pay them because it was due to negligence. The problem is I refuse to sue a Charity (I fell on the property of a food bank organization) Is there insurance organizations have that will cover costs like this or will I have to do the unthinkable and take the charity to small claims court? (I don't like the ideal of suing charities)
If this had happend on a commercial property, I would have sued them. But It hard to sue a chairty because it seems unconfrontable.
Basically what I'm asking is "is it wrong to sue a chairty?

They have property insurance. Or the people that own the property do. sue em all and let the judge find the deepest pockets.

It doesn't matter if the injury was do to someone's negligence. The responsibility to pay for the medical care you received is yours (or your medical insurance carrier). It's up to you whether you want to sue the food bank. They may have their own business insurance to cover this; so, it may not come out of their pocket.

It's the charity that is at fault, their insurance coverage will pay (assuming you win). Yes,, their rates will go up. If for some reason they didn't CARRY insurance they will have to pay out of their pockets.
If you don't want to sue a charity, pay your own bills, it's as simple as that. Nobody else is responsible.
