Is there anyway to protect your assets from seizure ? i.e. frivolous lawsuits, medical bills, etc?

I know OJ Simpson was able to protects his assets from the civil judgment but how do plain folks protect themselves from a sue-happy society?

he protected his stuff with the Florida homestead act, which protects peoples homes from being taken away by lawsuits, etc. You would have to check to see if your state has such an act.....

You can purchase an umbrella insurance policy that will give you liability coverage.

Being dead broke, and hence judgment-proof, is also a good option.
