what is the law in Michigan for negligence against a dog. Are emails discoverable in court to prove negligence. I sold a puppy to a person who wanted a puppy so bad but neglected him for the month she had him. How can I prove Negligence. She still has the puppy and I would like the puppy returned to me.
I made a verbal contract with her.to pay in installments of $ 100.00 over 3 months. She missed the second installment of $ !00.00 and is a month late.She breached everything in the contract we agreed to. Total trailer trash.

In any state you need to have an adoption contract where you retain ownership of the pup for a certain time to reclaim it.

Check your phone book for the number for the nearest SPCA branch. Your local county animal shelter could also give you details on how to report her to try to save the dog.

I think you have to return the money and just ask for the dog back. You need proof that they don't provide the dog with food/shelter. Just because the way they care for the puppy isn't up to your standards doesn't make it neglect in the courts eyes.

There is a hotline where you can report the goings-on. i dont know if this means you will get the puppy back though, because you did sell him/her. but you can try :) better than it going to a shelter!
